Home Renovation Project Overview
To help accomplish the homeowner’s vision, we partnered with Fendler Architects to create a master plan that repurposed the space. Their current 1960s home was lacking in storage and contained a closed floor plan so each room was separated from the rest of the home. The plan delivered a desirable open floor plan, a custom kitchen built to the space, a first-floor laundry room, an entertainment space and a primary suite with an ensuite bathroom.
Building on the architectural plans, R.E.A. Homes delivered creative solutions to enhance the project, resulting in a fully custom home remodel. Additionally, teaming up with Alspaugh Kitchen & Bath to thoughtfully select the cabinets, tile, backsplash, and more, along with BC Design Company on the interior design, resulted in a completely custom luxury home renovation.
Updating the Front Facade
R.E.A. Homes expertly gave the home’s exterior a stunning cosmetic facelift. The home’s previous red brick exterior was painted a crisp, clean white. New shutters and a new front door & new windows, both in a high-contrast, rich black, were also installed to make a memorable first impression on everyone who saw the home.
Designing the Custom Gourmet Kitchen
R.E.A. Homes completely transformed the closed-off, outdated kitchen by rearranging the layout to create a more open floor plan and a luxurious, gourmet kitchen. The home’s previously closed layout which functioned like a 1960s kitchen became an open concept, making it an ideal entertaining space. The kitchen was designed with the home chef at the forefront by thoughtfully considering the use of the space cabinetry in relation to the appliances. Additionally, the island is a multi-use space that can be used for prep work, cooking and dining. The kitchen design is truly unique, with custom-built cabinetry accented by a walnut hood finish, matching walnut countertops, along with white quartz countertops.
Reinventing the Great Room
The great room is the home’s stunning gathering place. In the elegant black and white communal area, the muted, stucco fireplace is understated, yet makes an impressive focal point. R.E.A. Homes creatively updated the entire space and made it an area to easily entertain in by opening the wet bar, which is to the left of the fireplace.
Creating a Luxury Primary Suite
The primary bedroom was reimagined to become a true primary suite, complete with an ensuite bathroom and an accessible laundry room. R.E.A. Homes added an elegant ensuite bathroom with dual vanities, a walk-in shower and a walk-in closet complete with custom shelving. Additionally, a laundry room was added to the primary suite for a more efficient way of living.
